Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") forms part of your agreement with AI for Good and supplements our Terms of Service. Violation of this AUP may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund.
CurryStudio is an AI-powered interactive learning platform. We provide this service to support education, curiosity, and genuine learning. This Policy defines what use is and is not acceptable. It applies to all users, regardless of plan, location, or account type.
Purpose of This Policy
This AUP exists to:
- Protect users, third parties, and the broader public from harm arising from misuse of our platform
- Comply with the usage policies of our Third-Party AI Providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google)
- Comply with applicable law, including the IT Act 2000, Indian Penal Code, and international regulations
- Maintain the integrity and quality of the CurryStudio learning environment
- Protect the reputational and operational safety of AI for Good
Permitted Use
CurryStudio is designed and permitted to be used for:
- Learning about any academic, scientific, historical, philosophical, or cultural topic
- Asking questions about complex or sensitive topics for genuine educational purposes (e.g. history of conflicts, medical conditions, legal concepts)
- Exploring ideas, testing hypotheses, and deepening understanding
- Preparing for exams, interviews, or professional development
- Research and fact-finding — with the understanding that AI output should be independently verified
- Language learning, writing improvement, and communication skills
- Professional use where the primary purpose is personal learning and skill development
- Assisting with understanding code, mathematics, science, and technical disciplines
Prohibited Content
You must not use CurryStudio to generate, distribute, or facilitate content that:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — any sexual content involving minors. This is illegal worldwide and will result in immediate termination and reporting to authorities
- Incitement to violence — content that encourages, glorifies, or facilitates violence against any person or group
- Terrorism & extremism — content that promotes, supports, or facilitates terrorist acts or extremist ideologies
- Hate speech — content that promotes hatred, discrimination, or dehumanisation based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin
- Non-consensual intimate imagery — generating or facilitating the creation of intimate images of real people without their consent
- Harassment & stalking — content designed to intimidate, threaten, harass, or stalk any individual
- Disinformation — deliberately false or misleading content intended to deceive or cause public harm
- Fraudulent impersonation — content that impersonates real individuals, institutions, or organisations in a misleading way
- Weapons of mass destruction — instructions or assistance with creating biological, chemical, nuclear, or radiological weapons
The following topics are permitted for genuine educational purposes but may be moderated if the request appears designed to facilitate harm rather than learning:
- History of conflicts, atrocities, and wars (permitted for historical understanding)
- Medical conditions including mental health, self-harm, and suicide (permitted for health literacy; we follow safe messaging guidelines)
- Legal processes including criminal law and court procedures
- Political ideologies including extremist movements (permitted for academic analysis, not promotion)
- Cybersecurity concepts including vulnerabilities (permitted for defensive understanding, not attack facilitation)
- Drug and alcohol information (permitted for harm reduction and education, not supply facilitation)
Prohibited Activities
The following activities are prohibited regardless of the content generated:
- Jailbreaking — attempting to bypass or override the safety guidelines of CurryStudio or any Third-Party AI Provider through adversarial prompting, role-play, or fictional framing
- Automated abuse — using bots, scripts, or automated tools to access the Service in a manner that exceeds normal human usage patterns or circumvents rate limits
- Account sharing & farming — sharing accounts, creating multiple accounts to circumvent limits, or reselling access to the Service
- Reverse engineering — attempting to extract, reproduce, or replicate the underlying AI models, prompt engineering, or proprietary systems
- Scraping — systematically extracting content from the Service for commercial purposes without express written permission
- Competitive intelligence — using the Service to build a competing AI product or to benchmark our AI models without permission
- Infrastructure attacks — any attempt to overload, disrupt, or attack our servers, APIs, or infrastructure (DDoS, injection attacks, etc.)
- Data harvesting — collecting personal data about other users from the platform
- Misrepresenting AI output — presenting AI-generated content as your own original human-authored work where this is prohibited or constitutes fraud
Third-Party AI Provider Policies
CurryStudio routes your prompts through Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI (GPT-4), and Google (Gemini). By using CurryStudio, you also agree to comply with each provider's usage policies. These policies have their own restrictions that apply directly to you as a downstream user:
- Anthropic Usage Policy — anthropic.com/legal/aup
- OpenAI Usage Policies — openai.com/policies/usage-policies
- Google Generative AI Terms — policies.google.com/terms/generative-ai
Where our AUP and a provider's policy conflict, the stricter requirement applies. We are not liable for content moderation decisions made by Third-Party AI Providers.
Minors
CurryStudio is designed for users aged 13 and above. Users aged 13–17 in India (or the applicable digital age of consent in their jurisdiction) must have verifiable parental or guardian consent.
- You must not create an account on behalf of a minor without proper parental consent
- You must not use the Service to generate sexual, violent, or otherwise inappropriate content directed at minors
- If we discover that a user is under the minimum age, we will suspend the account and delete associated data in accordance with our Privacy Policy
- Parents or guardians who believe their child has registered without consent should contact privacy@curry.studio immediately
Academic Integrity
CurryStudio is a learning tool, not a substitute for original work. You are responsible for understanding and complying with the academic integrity policies of any educational institution you are enrolled in.
Submitting AI-generated content as your own original work where your institution prohibits this may constitute academic misconduct. CurryStudio is not liable for consequences arising from such misuse. Use the platform to learn and understand — not to replace your own thinking.
Many institutions now permit or even encourage AI-assisted work with proper disclosure. Check your institution's policy and, when in doubt, disclose that AI was used in your process.
Intellectual Property
When using CurryStudio:
- Do not submit prompts that include copyrighted material in its entirety (e.g., full text of books, song lyrics, proprietary code) without authorisation
- Do not use the Service to generate content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights, including trademarks, patents, and copyrights
- AI Output may sometimes resemble existing works due to training data — you are responsible for checking output for potential infringement before commercial use
- We do not claim ownership of AI Output generated in response to your prompts — see our Terms of Service Section 8 for IP ownership details
Enforcement
We use a combination of automated safety filters (built into our AI providers), human review triggered by reports, and periodic audits to detect violations. We do not proactively monitor every conversation.
| Severity | Examples | Action |
|---|---|---|
| Minor — first offence | Accidental jailbreak attempt, borderline content | Warning email; content blocked |
| Moderate | Repeated jailbreaking, automated abuse, account sharing | Temporary suspension (7–30 days); no refund |
| Severe | Harassment, generation of illegal content, infrastructure attacks | Immediate permanent termination; no refund; possible legal action |
| Critical | CSAM, terrorism content, weapons assistance | Immediate termination; mandatory reporting to law enforcement |
We reserve the right to determine the severity of any violation at our sole discretion. Appeals may be submitted to support@curry.studio within 14 days of any enforcement action.
Reporting Violations
If you encounter content or behaviour that violates this AUP — whether your own or another user's — please report it:
- Urgent / illegal content: safety@curry.studio — we aim to respond within 4 hours
- General violations: support@curry.studio — we respond within 1 business day
- Grievance Officer: Yatin Shah — grievance@curry.studio — for formal complaints under IT Rules 2021
We treat all reports confidentially and do not disclose the identity of reporters except where required by law.
Updates to This Policy
We may update this AUP from time to time to reflect changes in our platform, applicable law, or the usage policies of our Third-Party AI Providers. Material changes will be communicated via email and an in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated AUP.
This Acceptable Use Policy is published by AI for Good on behalf of CurryStudio and is effective as of 1 April 2026. It forms part of your agreement with us alongside the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. It does not constitute legal advice.
